Ratios play an important part in breaking substances down into there fundamental parts. Initially, gold was mined from rock. That mixture was seperated by heating the rock and removing the liquid gold. Physically, gold was seperated from itself again by taking half of itself until only an atom of gold remained from the original gold nugget. The purpose was to identify the smallest particle that still had the same property as the whole. |
